What is a tea pet? In 13th century China, the use of ceramic tea pets came to be during tea ceremonies. Tea pets sit on your tea tray and you "feed" it leftover tea or the water used to warm up your teapot by pouring it over them, which nourishes them. Traditionally they are sculpted as animals or shaped like Buddhist characters, and tea lovers have generally have tea pets for good luck and to decorate the tea tray.
The material is ceramic. Glaze colors may appear different depending on lighting.
Sizes: Heart cake and waffle are just over 2 inches wide and 1.5 inches tall at highest points. Macaron stack has a base of about 1.5 inches and stands almost 3 inches tall. Lemon tart is also about 1.5 inches wide and stands about 2.5 inches tall.
